Hotels
We have being travelling to Namibia for many years and have found some excellent hotels for you to enjoy. Within an hour of you leaving Windhoek International Airport you will be sitting beside the pool in beautiful sunshine at The Auas Safari Lodge.
Throughout the adventure you will stay at the following hotels and lodges: Cape Cross Lodge which is a short walk from the famous Seal Colony, The Kunene River Lodge sitting beside the Kunene river where a crocodile may just float on by.
We have found an absolute gem of a lodge in the Fransfontein Mountains on our way to Etosha, the Guelkspoort Guest Farm, here you will see many snakes as this dry rocky ground is an ideal habitat for them.
Culture
There are many fascinating cultural attractions here in Namibia so our roadbooks will give you the option to visit places such as :
Twyfelfontain: San rock art, Geological processes such as The Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest, as well as the Damaraland Living Museum where you can experience their traditional way of living.
Brandberg: The White Lady San rock paintings which are an hours walk along a gorge deep in the mountains is a humbling place to visit. The San art is truly awe-inspiring to sit beside and contemplate the artists who painted such wonders 1000’s of years ago.
Wildlife
Namibia has an incredible amount of game reserves and game farms and we will be staying and enjoying game drives and walks at Auas Safari Lodge and Guelkspoort Guest Farm where you will see Giraffe, Eland, Oryx, Waterbuck, many birds and also Baboon troops.
It will not be until the famous Etosha National Park that you will possibly see Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Cheetah and Elephant.
We will also be travelling some of the desert rivers that run east to west and here we often see the Desert Elephants and Gemsbok. Lion can very occasionally make a presence, so we have to always be on our guard.
During our journey along the Skeleton coast you will have time to visit the seal sanctuary at Cape Cross. Here 150,000 Cape Fur Seals bread and it is an enthralling spectacle to witness.
