Hotels and Campsites
We only use hotels, lodges and game parks that have been carefully researched by our team, so that you will have an unsurpassed experience in Botswana.,Planet Baobab, Dqae Qare, Camp Okavango
Culture and Wildlife
Botswana is the ancestral home of the San Tribes and you will be able to immerse yourself into their culture at Daqe Qare Lodge and the Tsodilo Hills.
The wildlife in Botswana is extraordinary. There is a distinct possibility that you will have to stop and wait for Elephant as you travel on the main roads. You will have Wildebeest or Kudu pass by lit by the campfire during the San Trance dance at Daqe Qare.
Second to none Impala Support
You will have the acclaimed Impala Support Teams on hand at all times, whilst in Namibia.
We are very experienced at travelling and camping in the bush so you can leave your safety and well being in our hands.
Wildlife Reserves
In Botswana, more than 25 percent of the land area is set aside for game parks and game reserves to conserve the national heritage of the country. This has ensured that you will have some spectacular sightings of Africa’s iconic wildlife. Lion, Elephant, Kudu, Giraffe, Black-footed Cats are a few. The list is immense.
We will be travelling through the north of The Central Kalahari Game Reserve, The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, where we will be crossing Nwetwe Pan and wild camping in the middle before moving onto a campsite in Nxai Pan.
San Cultural Walk and Trance Dance at Dqae Qare
The Kalahari Desert is the ancestral home of the San. here many groups live as they have done for thousands of years.
We have the oppurtunity to spend some time with some of them at Dqae Qare, where they will show you how to find food, set traps for game and which plants are used for the wood to make bows and arrows.
As darkness falls we will witnas a trance dance around the glow of a camp fire. It is a magical and awe-inspiring experience, with the women and children sitting in a ring around the fire as the men chant and dance close to its embers.
The Okavango Delta
The Okavango is an immense inland river delta that was formed after an earthquake changed the course of rivers that used to flow to the sea in Namibia.
You will have the opportunity to either fly above its rivers and lakes, where you will see the paths forged through the vegetation by Hippos and Elephants or take a Mokoro (canoe) excursion along its waterways, where you could have a close encounter with either of these enormous animals.
Hotels and Campsites
This adventure is primarily a camping one and we will be using the wild camp sites in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Kubu Island on Sau pan and on Ntwetwe Pan. We also will be camping at the Dqae Qare San Lodge and at Harnas Wildlife Foundation (on our way from Namibia to Botswana). You can upgrade to a room at both campsites, if available. In Maun we use The Waterfront Hotel that is situated beside the Thamalakane River some 3 miles from the centre of Maun , which is close enough for Maun but far enough away to be quiet and tranquil.
